Three years to London Olympics

London Mayor Boris Johnson today presided over ceremonies starting the three-year countdown to the launch of the UK’s hard-won 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Recession-rocked Londoners didn’t seem to take much notice, but the infraestructure is well advanced and the city is already benefitting in a number of ways – bike paths, construction jobs, new buses and transport upgrades and waterway cleanup.
